Kelta HR had a successful & fun team building day at Blackland Farm yesterday. We spent the afternoon solving tasks, competing in archery and low ropes!! The weather stayed dry and we finished the day off with a lovely meal at the Old Dunnings Mill in East Grinstead.

Emma Henty our Senior Resourcer worked exclusively for a global client from the US to recruit 6 x HR Administrators for a newly created HR Solutions Team based in Ringmer, Lewes East Sussex.

After completing a 12 week temporary assignment all 6 candidates were transfered onto a permanent contract. 

We had a great experience setting up this friendly team and have enjoyed seeing it become very successful.

REC Compliance Test Passed


It’s good to know your business is in safe hands. Kelta HR sat the recruitment compliance test that was set through our main governing body REC. The test is based on recruitment and its legalities and compliance. We have been awarded with a highly commendable 92% pass rate. Given the fact that our business operates around HR it does give us the added edge in the market when it comes down to legislation.

TUPE or Not TUPE and Other Noble Questions Seminar


Kelta HR is pleased with the success of our recent employment law seminars which were based in Brighton and Crawley.

We gave our clients the opportunity to choose their preferred topics;

The First part of the morning was a masterclass on TUPE delivered by Simon Jefferys one of the Uk's Leading legal experts on TUPE.

To celebrate another great year, and to kick off the festive period, we celebrated at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton for their Juice FM Christmas Party! We enjoyed an evening dancing the night away. We then dished out the Secret Santa gifts while enjoying a roast dinner, wine, and desserts. All the gifts were very thoughtful. A great evening was had by all. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Excellent Feedback - Employment Law Seminar for Senior HR Professionals - Sticky Terminations


Kelta HR is pleased to announce following our seminar on Thursday 18th April for our Senior HR Professionals was a huge success. It was a small intermit seminar aimed at a more senior audience. We received 96.7% excellent feedback on the fact that the seminar was very useful and gave our HR Professionals the chance to interact with each other and share experiences.

We are looking for an ambitious and determined individual to join us in 2013!

We would like to hear from people who are keen to make their first step in the recruitment industry.

Initially working as a dedicated support to one of our existing Consultants, the successful candidate will learn the end to end process of the recruitment cycle with responsibility for all elements of this lifecycle.

There will also be involvement in developing new business opportunities with both existing and potential clients.  Previous experience within a recruitment or sales environment would be desirable, with an outgoing and confident personality, the determination to succeed and the ability to take on extra responsibility being essential.

With the training to develop and grow the role to ultimately manage the recruitment for a specific area within the business, this is a fantastic opportunity, offering a career path where good practice & results are both recognised and rewarded.

Kelta HR's Christmas outing 2012


To celebrate another great year, and to kick off the festive period, we embarked on a bowling battle! 

Split into two teams we spent a great evening bowling (or in some cases trying our hardest) against each other in a friendly but competitive match. 

The highest scorer was Frances - well done! - with the booby prize going to Shirley - better luck next time.

We then dished out the Secret Santa gifts while enjoying pizza, wine, desserts and coffee.  All the gifts were very thoughtful and, surprisingly, not too silly!

A great evening was had by all.

Advanced Guide to Terminations & Compromise Agreements

This course looks at the more difficult aspects of employment terminations and traps for the unwary, such as without prejudice conversations. Most companies dream of world domination almost from the moment they are established but recruitment consultancy Kelta HR is different.

It has been set up in the heart of Sussex and has no intention of going further afield.

As the HR in its name makes clear, the company currently concentrates solely on finding candidates for human resources departments but the aim is to eventually help companies in all sectors find the right people for vacant posts.

Kelta was founded by Frances Talijan and Kelly Jones, who worked together in the Brighton office of FTSE 100 recruitment company Hays HR.

Ms Talijan said: “Myself and Kelly set up on our own because we wanted to be a lot more client centric by having one consultant responsible for each client, rather than different consultants handling different types of role".

“This means if a client approaches us, with whatever type of candidate they need, they will deal with the same person who knows the kind of people that already work there and the challenges that they face".

“It is more of a consultancy approach than just being an agency.”

Kelta deals only with HR staff but covers all sectors, from manufacturing to financial services and everything in between, recruiting temporary, contract or permanent staff.

It covers the whole of Sussex and the Gatwick Diamond area, which stretches up to Redhill in Surrey.

Ms Talijan said: “We don’t go above the M25, which means we have a deeper relationship with candidates and clients. Our business model is all about focusing on the geographical area. It will never be our intention to go national.”

At the moment, Kelta HR is the only offshoot of umbrella company Kelta Solutions and the intention is to establish new arms such as Kelta Finance for recruiting people for jobs in the financial services sector.

Ms Talijan said: “Our growth will be built on our reputation and delivery of services so we will not need to conquer new borders but new disciplines.”

As companies cut back on hiring new staff because of the recession, the past year has been difficult for the recruitment industry, though Ms Talijan is starting to see some improvement.

After dealing with only a handful of companies looking to fill permanent positions since the start of the year, about 70% of Kelta’s workload has been recruiting permanent positions over the past month. Ms Talijan said: “We are starting to see an uplift and confidence is returning.”

Kelta has been a keen supporter of the business community, sponsoring the Equality and Diversity Award at this year’s Brighton and Hove Business Awards and the Training Award at this year’s Sussex Business Awards.

It is also plans to give financial support to students on the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development courses at the University of Brighton and other colleges across Sussex.
